Piecing Together a Broken Heart

Having a heart attack is a scary experience. After a heart attack, your heart is damaged, and it is crucial for doctors to understand how it’s damaged so they can prescribe proper treatment. However, the heart is a complex organ that is difficult to access, making it challenging to study. But now doctors are getting a hand from an unexpected corner: engineers and scientists, who use MRIs to create a 3D model of the heart to understand how it’s been damaged.
